About Dr. Kirwan

Dr. Kirwan grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and has known she wanted to become a dentist since she was eight years old. She attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS on a tennis scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1996.

While attending Benedictine College, she was awarded an Army ROTC scholarship and began her military career. Dr. Kirwan graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2000. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Fort Benning, Georgia.

After four years of active duty and four years in the Reserves, Dr. Kirwan decided to settle in her last duty station, right here in Leavenworth.

The Smile Centré was born in 2004 when Dr. Kirwan partnered with a local pediatric dentist to offer care to patients of all ages. The Smile Centré became a dental destination where any member of the family could receive the highest standard of care.

Dr. Kirwan’s expertise and true passion is transforming smiles. Her attention to detail and the constant pursuit of excellence have earned her multiple awards, such as Kansas City’s 435 Magazine TOP DENTIST of the Year Award, voted by her dental peers. With many years of extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and “single visit crowns,” she has the tools to create and maintain your beautiful smile.

In her downtime, Dr. Kirwan is a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and enjoys watching baseball, playing golf and tennis, and being a mom. Dr. Kirwan and her husband are the proud parents of four beautiful children and a crazy dog named Murphy.
